The Gump building, owned by Louis Vuitton, was first opened by Solomon and Gustave Gump as the first luxury store in Hawaii, being purveyors of fine antiquities and Asian O'ject D'art, in 1928. As the flagship retail store for Louis Vuitton in Waikiki, this store has been lovingly renovated and cared for by the LVMH Corporation through numerous renovations and repair projects since 1991. The Louis Vuitton Gump building has become a destination for visitors and local clientele alike, truly an image vehicle for the brand.
