Lacina Group was founded in 1995 by Ivan Lacina. Soon after, Josh Heitler was hired as one of its first employees. Based on Lacina’s extensive experience in corporate facility development, the firm initially specialized in commercial office projects. The company quickly grew and diversified into a broader array of commercial, residential and retail projects. In 2003, Heitler became a partner and the firm was renamed Lacina Heitler Architects. In 2009, Lacina retired and in 2014 Doug Houstoun became a partner in the renamed Heitler Houstoun Architects.
