Welcoming FIT to Our NYC Flagship: A Day of Design Education

We were honored to welcome Michael Woods and his accomplished design students from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) to our New York City flagship showroom. As one of the nation’s most respected design and business institutions, FIT represents the future of the interior design industry—and it was our privilege to host these emerging talents for a Lunch, Learn, & Tour.
The day’s immersive design education experience is a reflection of our enduring commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability in wood flooring and our belief that sharing industry knowledge with the next generation of designers is essential. Advancing design through education and sustainable materials remains central to our philosophy at PID Floors: informed designers create exceptional spaces when they understand and utilize sustainable materials.
For our Lunch & Learn session, we presented our NWFA course, Wood Flooring 101. The visit culminated in a curated tour of our NYC flagship showroom, where students engaged with our expansive portfolio of luxury wood flooring collections along with a special guest appearance by one of PID Floors’ mascots and special pups.
This Design Student Lunch, Learn & Tour is part of PID Discover, our ongoing initiative dedicated to education, collaboration, and community within the design industry. Through curated design events, CEU courses, and immersive showroom experiences, PID Discover fosters meaningful dialogue around hardwood flooring, sustainability, and innovation.
Our new flagship showroom in New York City embodies both the spirit and history of PID Floors. It is a celebration of all the things we know and love about our wood flooring industry and created to be a design hub of inspiration for all generations. It was another incredibly rewarding day of sharing our expertise about hardwood flooring and we truly look forward to seeing these talented FIT students contribute to the future of sustainable design.
