"Turner Towers is a grand art deco 24 hour doorman building with 186 apartments. It is one of very few buildings in the city that are true “tenant sponsored coops”. The tenants organized and bought out the landlord in the 60’s, sold the apartments to themselves for very low figures, and all the money that was accrued from the sales went back into restoring the structural integrity and grandeur of this building."
