"1199 Park Avenue was built in 1961 by architect Robert L. Bien, a prolific architect who designed a number of Manhattan apartment buildings from 1959 to 1970. This elegant 19 story red brick building was converted to a cooperative in 1980. The floors with few apartments create a more intimate atmosphere than many other buildings.
