This technology is applied to the surface of PID Floors and bonded with a UV-cured Bona urethane finish during the manufacturing process. Now part of the molecular structure, it will not wash or wear away. EPA-approved, pet and family-friendly, it contributes to a cleaner and more hygienic living or working space.

The Microban® Process

The application process involves bonding the Microban® additive with a UV-cured Bona urethane finish, creating a seamless integration of antimicrobial properties with the hardwood surface.

UV curing is a technologically advanced method that utilizes ultraviolet light to cure coatings quickly and efficiently, resulting in a hardened and durable finish. This UV-cured Bona urethane finish on PID Floors provides a protective layer and ensures that the Microban® additive is effectively integrated, forming a long-lasting shield against microbial growth.

Microban® odor-control and antimicrobial agents are integrated along with the UV Cured Bona urethane. As it proceeds through the finish roll coater applicators, the coating is applied twice on to the surface of PID Floors during the manufacturing process. Microban® antimicrobial technology is UV cured and built-into two coating layers providing you the best protection. This patented technology never washes off or wears away and stays active for the life of the product.
