manufactured and kiln dried before it is created into sustainable flooring.Explore the reasons why real wood flooring is an environmentally friendly and a sustainable design product.
-
Learn why wood requires less energy and water to produce than other flooring options like carpet or tile, which are using energy-intensive means and/or synthetic materials based on fossil fuels.
Observe how every aspect of a hardwood log is used post-harvest, making hardwood lumber industry manufacturing almost entirely a zero-waste operation.
-
Watch how sawdust and other waste byproducts of milling lumber from flooring planks get transformed into bark and chips, used for landscaping mulch and agricultural bedding,
and energy pellets which fuel, heat, and power the production facility.
