PID Floors was honored to be a venue partner for “From Commitments to Credibility: The Role of Certification & Verification in Sustainability.” This incredible Climate Week NYC 2026 panel discussion and networking event, organized by Preferred by Nature, gathered leaders from across certification, standards, and sustainability at our flagship showroom in New York City.

This Climate Week NYC 2026 event brought together leading voices from the forestry, agriculture, carbon, and corporate sustainability sectors to explore a question increasingly central to the world of design: what does responsible sourcing look like when the standards themselves are evolving? While navigating more ambitious climate and biodiversity goals, emerging regulation, and more discerning expectations from customers, investors, and regulators, the evening’s comprehensive panel discussion examined how certification and independent assurance can bring greater transparency to the materials and systems behind the things we make.

Topics of Discussion Included:

• How companies are using certification and verification as tools for risk management and to demonstrate progress against sustainability commitments

• The growing role of independent assurance in supporting credible environmental and sustainability claims

• How certification can support responsible sourcing, due diligence and emerging regulatory requirements

• Where biodiversity, climate resilience, adaptation and living incomes fit into existing systems

• How certification and verification need to evolve as corporate sustainability strategies and expectations continue to change

Speakers Included:

Cameron Plese: RSPO, Head of North America and Head of Government Affairs

Christa Anderson: RFA, Senior Director of Climate

Julianne (Julie) Baroody: Verra, Senior Director Certification

Marcel Fukayama: B Lab, Chief Impact & Movement Officer

Sarah Billig: FSC US, President
